RUINS Chelem is within reach of Uxmal, Mayapan, Chichén Itzá and Dzibilchaltun ruins. Best visited earlier in the day as it gets hot! Don’t forget to wear a hat and be sure to check the INAH website for admission prices and closures. CELESTÚN One of the top places in the world to view flamingos in their natural habitat is here in the Yucatán at Celestún. The peak time of year is December-February but they can be seen there year round. There are many tours that leave out of Mérida that will take you to see them.
